I've added a new album of Amanda pictures including a couple of pictures from her latest trip to Sadies. We only got a couple of them from this set but I think we'll be getting several more. They are just unreal - it would cost a small fortune to get them all but I want to get several of them.

It's been a while but some new pics are up on the site. After working night and day for a year or more I decided to just enjoy spending time with Amanda and Steph and not to worry too much about taking pictures and getting them on the site. It's been a nice relaxing time over the last few months though work is still stressful as it will always be. I plan on starting to take more pictures and to get them on the site more. I might tinker with the format of the pages a little bit - not sure though - that sounds like work to me. I don't think there's anything really wrong with the layout - I just might split things up into a few sections. We'll see...

I've been working like a dog and haven't put up anything new in a while. We got some Christmas pictures of Amanda done this past week and those are now up on the site. We also got a Santa picture done but she wasn't a big fan of Santa Claus so Steph had to step in and help...

I added a new section for recipes tonight. The first one is for a very low fat ice cream. We're on a very strict low-fat diet due to my cholesterol being too high and after 6 months my cholesterol has dropped over 50 points. I'm going to be putting some recipes on the web site that we use a lot that are healthy and great tasting. The format of the new page is kind of plain but it'll do for now.

Amanda climbed out of her crib today so we're taking her out of it a little earlier than we wanted to. She is sleeping on her mattress on the floor for a few nights and then we'll get a big girl bed in there. Yes, I know it's been a long while. We've taken a couple of trips and I've been slammed at work. There are two new updates up now - one from August 24 and one from August 25. It's been tougher to take a lot of pictures and get them on the site. Hopefully things will settle down a bit and we can get some more good pictures soon.

Well, it's been a while since an Amanda update - some of you know why, but things have been pretty hectic around here lately. Well, today was a good day for one. Amanda went to her friend Zakary's first birthday party at the beach at Ft. Desoto. She had a ball and you can tell by the pictures. She ate birthday cake and watermelon and got to swim in the ocean for the first time and then came home and swam some more. The early pictures in this update are from the last few weeks - I just hadn't been able to do an update to the site and throw them on here. Hope you enjoy them...

A new Amanda album is up on the site. These are mostly from a trip to Dunnellon to see the Lewis Family and from a pre-Easter party with Rex and Gail since they're going to be out of town on Easter. I think there are a lot of really good pictures in this update. She loved her Easter basket and loved sitting in it even more. I'm taking the kayak out for the first time (finally!) tomorrow as I'm leaving work a little early. I hopefully will have some good pictures from that - good pictures taken by me from inside the boat, that is - not good pictures taken by Erik from outside the boat of me in the water :)

I added two new albums just now - one for March 11th that includes her first birthday party and one that includes pictures that I just pulled off the camera from the day after her birthday and from the other day. She had a great birthday and is enjoying all of the things she was spoiled with that day.

I forgot to update last time so there are two new albums in Amandas section for 2-25 and 3-5. I also sold the Gheenoe today. It was sad but I never used it over the last year and a half so it was time to let someone else enjoy the boat. Never fear, though - I bought a kayak today :) I bought a Prowler 13 from Ocean Kayak and have added a new section of kayak pictures to the site. There are some Amanda pictures there as well since she helped break in the boat with me (not on the water yet, though).

Amanda gave me an early Valentines Day gift yesterday - some pictures she had made at Sadies the other day. I'm biased, but I think they're just the best pictures ever. You can see them in the Amanda section...

More pictures of Amanda were added including her first time drinking out of her sippy cup by herself for more than a swallow or two. She also is now trying to climb onto the couch by herself. She can push a box or toy over to it and climb up by herself but she can almost climb up unassisted. She can get her leg up on it and she pulls but isn't quite able to make it all the way yet.

Well, I've finished redoing the Amanda pictures pages. If you go there via the menu on the left hand side of the main page, you'll see that there's one page that dynamically builds all of the picture albums from now on. There are two links at the top of that page. One takes you to the old really big Amanda pictures page which will not be updated anymore. The other link should be used if you can not view the new pictures page properly for some reason. That link takes you to a page containing all new Amanda pictures from this point going forward that are formatted similarly to the old pictures page. You can just click on the Amanda link in the menu to the left and you should be able to see what's going on from there. Anyone should be able to either view the pictures page or be able to click the links at the top of that page to view all of the pictures. Please let me know if you have any issues at all so that I can take care of them.

I added new Amanda pictures and a few new Dixie pictures today. These are from Christmas so it took a little bit of time to get them on the site. I have a new way of viewing the pictures sort of done. You can go to www.5-down.net/amanda/images.html and try it out. If you have problems the older page is updated for now. I'm not going for a better look and feel right now - just trying to make it easier to get them on the site. Let me know if you have issues with it. It should make it easier to navigate the pictures as well. You can get to both the old and new pages from the menu to the left.

I updated with some new Amanda pictures and a few new Dixie pictures today. Amanda had her first visit with Santa Claus and I think the picture is priceless. They didn't even have to beg her to smile - she smiled right away. She's a little ham...

I'm going to start noting here when new pictures have been added to the site. I haven't been doing that at all, but it'll be easier to check the site I think. I added new pictures on Sept. 20 and Sept. 26 in the Amanda section. Dixie has a 5th birthday coming up on Friday so I'm sure some new Dixie pictures will be on the site at some point shortly thereafter.

There are a couple of new pictures in the Fishing section from last year. I have been wanting to get these scanned in for a while but with the move and everything else going on it's been tough. I guess it's kind of timely with the season starting to come around again with the weather warming up a little bit and the water temperatures rising as well.

Well, we closed on the house on Dec 23rd with some difficulty. The check didn't show up to our first closing and the paperwork wasn't correct for the second closing. After a horrible day, however, we did close and we shut the garage door about 11:30p that night after getting the U-Haul unloaded. Christmas was great as we went up this past weekend to see my parents and to have Christmas with them. The DSL line got installed last Thursday the 9th so 5-down.net was back up and in business that day. I apologize for all the bounced emails and for the web site being down during the move. I planned on having everything up and running during the move but it just couldn't be worked out. I'm having problems sending emails to some domains as Verizon's dynamic IP ranges are listed on some RBLs. I may bump my service up to the business service to get a static IP but I don't know whether I'm going to do that or not yet. I can receive all emails, however - I may just have to reply using other means for now.

Added pictures of the (hopefully) new house to the Pictures section. If everything goes well we should be closing late in December. Work is starting to get managable so things are looking up a bit. I hopefully will get some time off soon and can relax a bit after the crazy year I've had.
